YK11 DESCRIPTION
YK-11 is a synthetic steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (steroidsarm). It is a 5-α-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) based steroid compound, which is a gene selective and partial agonist of the androgen receptor (AR). YK11 is the only SARM so far able to increase the expression of the activin binding protein Follistatin (FST) and plays a key role in the right induction anabolic effects of FST. YK11 has the chemical formula C25H34O6 and a molecular mass of 430.541 g·mol−1.
HOW YK11 WORKS, IMPACT MECHANISM
YK11 has a chemical structure similar to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) from which it is derived, and both YK11 and DHT hormones bind to androgen receptors (AR). However, unlike DHT, YK11 does not cause the physical interaction between NTD/AF1 and LBD/AF2 (also known as N/C interaction) required for full transactivation of Ar. In other words, YK11 partially activates Ar without N/C interaction. This partial (limited) activation of androgen receptors increases the catabolic activity in the body. However, YK11 also induces expression of Follistatin (FST), an autocrine glycoprotein that is a potent inhibitor of myostatin effects, a protein that inhibits muscle growth. Thus, the resulting strong anabolic effect of YK11 is thought to be primarily due to the induction of Follistatin expression, which blocks the effects of myostatin. The resulting anabolic activity of YK11 in C2C12 myoblasts is stronger than the anabolic activity of DHT.
YK11 AND BODYBUILDING
Thanks to its unique ability to induce follistatin and significantly help build muscle mass, YK11 has also become a topic of interest for bodybuilders. However, YK11 is not an approved nutritional supplement or stimulant for athletes. This is an experimental substance, so far little scientifically studied. In addition, the possible side effects of YK11 have not yet been scientifically investigated (at all). This means that experimental, unscientific use (abuse) like yk11 can be extremely risky or dangerous.
